Kelly Rowland Performs on Leno

Kelly Rowland stopped by The Tonight Show to further promote her new album 'Here I Am'  the singer even performed her hit single 'Motivation' this time offering up a live vocal.

As a former member of my all time favorite group I will always support anything Kelly does.  Unfortunately I must be honest this performance although highly energized , showcased how weak of a vocalist Kelly really is as a solo act.

New Video: 'Quickie' by Miguel

Miguel releases the visual 'Quickie' from his critically acclaimed album 'All I Want Is You'.  Miguel is one of the most promising talents to hit the scene in such a long time so it's great to see that he has found so much success with this album.  The video is sexy and the black and white gives it a classic vibe.

New Music ♫: 'I Love Her' by Chris Brown

I've come to expect a new track from Chris Brown almost daily and here's another titled 'I love Her'.   The song is a smooth R&B joint with mass pop appeal.   I'm really enjoying his music as of late it seems more grown up and thought out.  I love when artist grow and flourish.

Soul Singer Amy Winehouse Dead At 27

Police have confirmed that the body of Soul-Singer Amy Winehouse was found earlier today in her London Home.  According to several reports the cause of death has been listed as unknown but many speculate it is due to her known longtime use of drugs combined with alcohol abuse.

Amy was best known in the states for her widely populated single 'Rehab' from her critically acclaimed album 'Back To Black.'  Arguably one of the best musical talents of our time the industry has just lost an immense talent.

BET To Honor Aaliyah With Tribute Special

Earlier today B.E.T released an official statement that there will be an  'Aaliyah Tribute' on the network next month.  August 25th' 2011 will mark the 10-yr anniversary since Aaliyah and members of her crew perished in a tragic plane crash leaving the Bahamas.  The singer was in route after shooting her final music video for her hit single 'Rock The Boat'.

I can still remember the moment that I heard Aaliyah had passed away , and the emotion that ran over me as a longtime fan, nearly 10 yrs later it's still hard to fathom that she is no longer with us.  Thankfully her legacy lives on with timeless music and an impeccable image that reminds us of the immense talent that once was.

Lets hope that B.E.T who is known for ruining what could be great moments, get this one right.  There is only one way to honor a woman of Aaliyah's caliber and that is with CLASS!!!

Album Review- Kelly Rowland 'Here I Am'

Kelly Rowland has a lot to smile about lately.  The singer is finally enjoying success in her own lane, stepping into the spotlight and making a respectable name for herself amongst a group of industry heavyweights.

Rowland's third solo album 'Here I Am' finally received a release date after she managed to land a #1 single with the title track Motivation after many failed attempts with songs like (Rose Colored Glasses, Commander, & Grown Woman.)  Just a few months later Kelly is ready to deliver with new found motivation & the want to secure her rightful spot.

Standout Tracks

'Motivation'-  The title track from the album landed Kelly her first #1 single w/o being a featured artist.  The song is not what we are typically use to hearing from Rowland due to its overly sexual lyrical content.  However it became a fan/non fan favorite and is now the signature sound behind the entire record.

'Lay It On Me'-  The follow up single that leaked prematurely a few weeks ago is also a sexually charged number.  Although the song isn't as strong as its predecessor I can see why it got the nod for 2nd single.  The chorus is somewhat catchy but the beat is infectious and has a killer summer vibe.

However listening to this song reminds of 'Right Here' by Nicole Scherzinger the vocals are darn near the same.  Kelly has some explaining to do!!!

'All Of The Night ' ft. Rico Love-  A sexy duet on the album where Kelly takes you back to the bedroom.   The song is so smooth and I love how Kelly compares her sex to music "Turn the music on, & I'll be your favorite song" she says as she pleads.  Very sensual.

'Turn It Up'-  A song that can easily be single material.  Has a club/party vibe but after more evaluation you realize its much deeper.  Kelly is scorned by her ex but instead of airing him out she decides to turn it up, and pop bottles until she is fully released of him.  I enjoy how they played with the concept of the song.

'Feeling Me Right Now'-  If your going to be Cocky this is how your suppose to do it.  Kelly talks about self-love and being aware of your own worth.  I especially love the part where she says "I want to take her home cause' I know I'll love her right".  I raise my glass to that ain't nothing wrong with loving yourself without bringing others down in the process..

So So Moments

'I'm Dat Chick'-  An failed attempt to make a female empowerment record.  Taking notes from Keri Hilson's 'I'm so Pretty Handbook',  Kelly pretty much jacked the same theme behind 'Pretty Girl Rock' but didn't execute it nearly as well.  I'm not sure what is with these female singers of lately but they sure like to put themselves on a pedestal.  Don't talk about it be about it!!

'Down For Whatever'-  A great song if your into the Euro-Pop sound that is huge right now.   I actually don't mind the song but frankly it doesn't fit into the vibe of this album.  I'm aware however that Kelly has made quite the name for herself across the pond so it would have been career suicide to alienate any of her fan base at this point.

Other Standout Tracks
( Keep It Between Us, Work It Man ft. Lil Playy)

Kelly has managed to piece together a solid effort.  I won't complain because I know how much she fought for this record and for that I admire her strength.  I think she had to many collaborations on the album and she could have done without them , but to each their own..

The Jadon Files Rating: 3.5/5 Stars

Jennifer Lopez & Marc Anthony File for Divorce

Jennifer Lopez & husband of seven years Marc Anthony have released an official statement that they will end their marriage.  What seemed to be a happy union publicly for the couple, has now become turmoil as the two face hard times ahead as I'm sure the media will have themselves a field day with the news.

In a statement to People, the couple said
“We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters.
It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
Although it would be easy to mock Jennifer's failed attempts at marriage, I can't help but to feel sorry for the children who have now lost a two parent home.  However I'm sure Jennifer & Marc will do their best to ensure their children's happiness.  Wishing them all the luck!

Matthew Knowles Slams Beyonce's Handlers

Although he claims to hold a amicable relationship with superstar daughter Beyonce after being let go from his position of many years as the brains behind her empire Matthew Knowles has finally opened up and is dishing a bit of bitter emotion.

This comes just days after Papa Knowles was accused of stealing millions of dollars from his superstar daughter.  According to several reliable sources the speculation and accusations that were made was the primary reasoning behind the sudden split.  Matthew has stated that Beyonce's handlers are "Trying to ruin his reputation", which includes her husband Jay-Z, Columbia Records, & Live Nations.

New Video: 'Best Thing I Never Had' by Beyonce

Beyonce releases the visual for 'Best Thing I Never Had' the second single from her new album '4' in stores now.  The video showcases Beyonce as a joyful bride on her wedding day, having a few flashbacks of a love that was lost.  Although I could have thought of better concepts the simple video isn't so bad.
