Album Review- Rihanna// Unapologetic

Seven years ago pop icon Rihanna was introduced to the world as a shy island girl from Barbados, who many feared would not succeed past her first solo album.  Fast forward six albums later and the pop singer is now one of the industries most celebrated and accomplished artist.

Officially as of today the singer has twelve #1 singles to her name. Rihanna has managed to surpass some of musics top veterans including the late great Whitney Houston, proving that her star power in a dwindling industry packs one hell of a punch as her new album 'Unapologetic' hits the shelves!

Baring all of herself for the world to see the newly crowned princess of pop has become one of the top followed artist on social networks across the board, and the top artist on Facebook.   Showcasing an unmatched love for her adoring fans, which she refers to as the #RihannaNavy this superstar at the mere age of twenty-four is destined for greatness.

Standout Tracks
'Diamonds'-  The lead single from the record introduced the world to a more subdued artist than her previous released singles.  Diamonds is not a dance record by any form and has sort of a folk/hippy sound.  The repetition of the song along with the softness gives Rihanna an edge that she had been lacking until now as a well rounded artist.

'Loveee Song'- One of the best slow jam records that Rihanna has possibly ever recorded.  The song stands true to who rihanna is style wise, but also shows rihanna using her natural tone (not so many enhancements).  Future had no business being on this record, the pop superstar would have carried it off well without him and his heavily auto-tuned voice.

'Jump'-  A solid pop record that makes me jump for joy.  Rihanna samples R&B singer Ginuwine's hit 'Pony,' as she sings the racy lyrics over a electronic beat. The song by far has potential to be one of the official singles from the album.

'Stay'- ft. Mikky Ekko- A piano led ballad, with absolutely no studio gimmicks.  The tracks allows us to appreciate Rihanna's voice in entirety.  Not known for being a vocal beast like many of her peers the pop-goddess exudes flawless emotion and vocal control on the record. Definitely single potential.  Beautiful!

'Nobody's Business'- ft. Chris Brown-  Have you ever heard a song so good, that you want to hate it?  Well this is one of those records.  Instantly the song is so infectious that it finds its way into your blood stream.  Chris and Rihanna confess their undying love for each other reminding the world that it "Ain't none of their business."  For sure this song will be the next single from the record, and an instant hit with fans and critics alike. Pop Perfection!!!!

So So Moments

"Lost In Paradise" & "Get it Over With"- Both nicely written ballads and overall great to listen too, but nothing groundbreaking that makes me feel as if I couldn't live without listening to these records.

Other Standout Tracks
( Phresssh Off the Runway, Love Without Tragedy, )

 Final Thoughts

Rihanna is one busy girl and has officially snatched the title of being the music industries most hardest working woman.  Not only did she finally put her hand in on writing twelve of the albums tracks the singer also executive produced the record showing that she is more than just a pretty face and voice to sell records.  With each record the singer is coming to her own as business woman, and artist!

The Jadon Files Rating: 4/5 Stars
